Arts & Culture

Oromocto is a creative and cross-culturally diverse community with a rich history and heritage.  A visit to Oromocto is like a walk through history.  From our early military history to our aboriginal history, you can connect with the fabric of this community in many ways.  Artists can practice their craft and showcase their work, performers can dazzle audiences close to home and cultural and heritage groups can share celebrations that will amaze and educate residents.

• The Oromocto Arts and Learning Centre and Discovery Gallery - Observe and interact with featured Artists and their selection of handmade crafts, oil, acrylic, watercolour painting, pencil, photography, and pastels. Located at137 MacDonald Avenue

The Town of Oromocto participated in the 2016 New Brunswick International Sculpture Symposium and Artist Jesse Salisbury created a public sculpture to commemorate our 60^th Anniversary. The artwork is located at the stunning location of our Hazen Park along the Oromocto River.  This natural surrounding is the ideal location for reflection of our historic past and a location where our rivers and people meet.  Again the Town participated in the symposium in 2022 and artist, Jim Boyd was selected as the sculpture.  The sculpture is located adjacent to the visitor information centre and is entitled, "Expand."
